What is revision hip replacement?

• Mostly this is required if an earlier replacement is loose and giving pain
• The loose components are removed and usually special components must be inserted
• This is especially the case if the bone has be weakened and reinforcement is necessary
• These components are manufactured from titanium and are rigorously tested

• The components can be assembled from different lengths and shapes. This called modularity

  

• Different combinations treat different bnormalities

  

• The aim is restoration of normal anatomy
